05 December 2009, Australia is a 48.2% and Germany 74.4% chance of getting to the Round of 16 ahead of Serbia 47.9% and Ghana 29.5% according to the Castrol Predictor, a new tool launched today by 2010 FIFA World Cup™ sponsor Castrol.

At the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ draw, Australia were drawn in a group against Germany, Ghana and Serbia and Castrol’s analysis of the performances of each of the 32 competing teams, shows that Australia has a 21.6% chance of getting to the Quarter finals, 10% to the semi-finals and 1.3% chance of winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

The Castrol Predictor suggests that if Australia make it through to the round of 16, they are most likely to meet old rivals England.

The Castrol Predictor suggests Australia have a 20% chance of topping the group and a 48.2% chance of getting through the Group stage.

Should Australia make it through the group stage the Castrol Predictor can show who Australia are most likely to face in the next rounds too, depending on whether they finish top or 2nd.
